This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the Breitling Endurance Pro, a professional sports chronograph launched in August 2020. Positioned for triathletes and other endurance sports enthusiasts, it also caters to everyday casual wear. Its creation was directly related to the needs of triathlon legend Jan Frodeno, and its design is inspired by the classic 1970s Breitling Sprint lightweight pulse chronograph.
Core Design and Materials Size and Materials: Initially 44mm, a 38mm size was added in 2024; the standard 44mm version uses Breitlight® (Breitling's exclusive Swiss material), which is 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than stainless steel, non-magnetic, scratch-resistant, and hypoallergenic; a titanium version is also available (often seen in the IRONMAN collaboration). The bezel rotates bidirectionally with a compass scale and features a brightly colored pulsometer ring on the inner ring for easy heart rate monitoring during exercise. The crown is the same color as the strap, offering a non-slip and easy-to-operate grip. It has a double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 100 meters.
Dial and Color Scheme: Black main dial with red markers on the chronograph hands for enhanced legibility; hour markers and hands are coated with Super-LumiNova luminescent material. The 44mm original is available in white, blue, yellow, orange, and red; the 38mm version offers more subtle color options to suit different genders and styles.
Strap: Standard configuration includes a matching Diver Pro rubber strap with a Breitlight double safety clasp; an optional ECONYL recycled nylon NATO strap is also available.
Movement Performance
44mm: Equipped with the Breitling Caliber 82 (COSC-certified Thermocompensated SuperQuartz™), approximately 10 times more accurate than standard quartz; supports 1/10th-second chronograph, 30-minute total chronograph, and date display.
38mm: Equipped with the Breitling Caliber 83, also a COSC-certified SuperQuartz, offering the same functions and a smaller size suitable for smaller watch diameters.
Classic and Limited Editions
Standard 44mm (Breitlight): Models such as X82310D91B1S1 (red bezel and red strap), a popular entry-level model in the series;
38mm Smaller Size: Targeting women and those who prefer a more understated look;
IRONMAN Limited Edition: Such as the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship model (E823105A1M1S1), titanium case, blue theme, IRONMAN logo on the case back.
Suitable for various scenarios: It perfectly balances professional sports (triathlon, running, cycling, etc.) with daily commuting; its ultra-light weight makes it comfortable to wear for extended periods, and its colorful design adds a touch of vibrancy. It is a rare sports watch that combines the attributes of a tool with a sense of style.
