URWERK launches carbon-clad UR-230 “Eagle” limited edition for the first time Equipped with half hunter box and shock absorbing turbine.
Swiss independent watch brand URWERK has launched a new model in its UR-200 series called the UR-230 “Eagle”.
The watch is housed in a complex half-hunter case measuring nearly 45 mm and made of CTP carbon fiber, making it strong, durable and lightweight. While the new model adheres to the same display concept as its predecessor, it showcases a more sophisticated version of the URWERK rotating satellite complication. The satellite system can be viewed in its entirety when the cover is opened, designed first and foremost to protect the sapphire crystal.
New and improved features have also been implemented, such as turbine-driven shock absorbers on the back of the case. These turbines are built to attenuate external shocks and shocks and regulate the watch’s winding power via an “air brake”. The UR-7.30 movement is now shock-protected and safely stored within the case, and offers a power reserve of up to 48 hours in both automatic and manual winding.
URWERK co-founder and master watchmaker Felix Baumgartner explains that the UR-230 “Eagle” emphasizes performance, noting that “the turbine that is one of our URWERK hallmarks has been further improved. Today we are launching a model that enhances its robustness through technology model."
