How, what, who is Ryan Fitzpatrick? What was the key to their play-calling in Week 1? Injury updates on DeSean Jackson, Brent Grimes and Vernon Hargreaves plus much much more!Eagles vs. Buccaneers: Five matchups to watch - PhillyVoiceJackson has killed the Eagles with big plays ever since Chip Kelly decided that his best receiver (by far) wasn’t worthy of a roster spot anymore. In 5 games against his former team, Jackson has 20 catches for 440 yards (22.0 YPC) and 2 TDs. In 2016, Jackson burned Schwartz’s defense (as noted above) with an 81-yard TD bomb. Jackson may not get a chance to burn the Birds once again on Sunday, as he suffered a concussion and a shoulder injury Week 1 against the Saints. Jackson’s absence would be a big break for the Eagles.Foles vs Fitz - Iggles BlitzThe key for Foles and Fitzpatrick is that the players around them did their jobs so well. Fitzpatrick dropped back to pass more than 30 times and he wasn’t sacked once. His receivers made big plays for him. DeSean Jackson used his explosive speed to get open deep for several big gains. Mike Evans hauled in a 50-yard TD. The Bucs had 8 pass plays of 20 yards or more. They have 5 that went for at least 35 yards. That sounds like the 1999 Rams! This is proof that you don’t need a great QB if all the other pieces perform at a high level. Obviously that’s not sustainable for a long period of time so people go after great QBs. But you can have guys like Fitz and Foles who do amazing things here and there.Eight years after triple bypass, Jeff Stoutland has found a ‘Super’ home with the Eagles - The Athletic“You feel like he’s coming from a place of, honestly, love,” says Kelce. “He’s a guy who cares for each and every guy. I don’t know if he got that from coaching in college and recruiting kids and whatnot. But that’s something I don’t think is the norm in the NFL. You definitely feel that with Stout. At all times http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/zach-ertz-jersey-cheap , he’s just trying to help you be the best player you can be.” The relationships go both ways. When Stoutland was coaching in college, he would always tell Jake about Jason Peters. He would use Peters’ film with the Eagles as teaching tape for his players. Over the years, Peters became a mythical figure to Jake. Then his dad finally got to coach Peters in 2013, and the two formed a strong bond. When Stoutland’s dog, Cornell, died two years ago, he was devastated. And his players could tell. So Peters decided to spring into action and get the family a new dog, OL-iver.NFL Offensive Line Rankings – after Week 1 - PFFIt’s not an understatement to say that the quality in line play was the difference in last Thursday night’s game. The Eagles offensive line held up particularly well in pass protection against a formidable Falcons front thanks in large part to the return of Peters. The Eagles left tackle picked up where he left off before injury, not allowing a single pressure on 42 pass-blocking snaps.Just a Number: How Some of the NFL’s Over-the-Hill Players Dominated Week 1 - The RingerIn the Thursday night opener between the Falcons and Eagles, 35-year-old running back Darren Sproles got the start in the backfield. It was tough sledding for the veteran on the ground—he carried the ball just five times for 10 yards—but his talent as a pass catcher in the open field showed up when it mattered most. Sproles grabbed four passes for 22 yards, including this crucial third-down conversion in the fourth quarter Cheap DeAndre Carter Jersey , extending what would be the game-winning drive.Buccaneers’ Ryan Fitzpatrick loves and hates Eagles’ defense - NBCSPFor swagger to show up on game film 鈥?that’s pretty incredible. The veteran quarterback, who will face the Eagles on Sunday in Tampa Bay, said this to a group of Philadelphia reporters in a conference call in advance of the game. This is Fitzpatrick’s 14th season in the NFL, so his being impressed by the Eagles’ defense is really saying something. It’s not hard to figure out where the Eagles’ defense gets its swagger from. Jim Schwartz is oozing with it. Everything about his being oozes confidence, from the sunglasses on his face to his sleek suits to his walk. His players have taken on that same personality. That’s why a former seventh-round pick like Jalen Mills has been confident enough to earn a starting gig, win a Super Bowl and keep getting better.Ray Didinger: Ron Jaworski’s Victorious Debut Against The Bucs - PE.comRon Jaworski had concerns going into his first start for the Eagles. It was September 1977, and Jaworski was new to Philadelphia having just joined the team in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. The regular-season opener was approaching and Jaworski was worried. Call it fear of the unknown. Jaworski didn’t know how he would be received by the Veterans Stadium crowd. He was in the Vet once before and it was a 1975 Monday night game when the Rams drubbed the Eagles, 42-3. That was the night the fans expressed their feelings about the Eagles by tossing a giant dog bone on the field.Mike Smith spoke to the media ahead of Sunday’s matchup - Bucs NationWhile preparing for the Eagles, the Buccaneers have turned to Vinny Curry and Beau Allen for a little insight on their former team. “They are a great resource for us. They know a bunch of guys on that team,” Smith said. “They have been able to give us some information and we think that will help us going forward. It’s going to be an emotional game for those guys as well, and we want them to be even keeled as much as possible.” There is no secret that Doug Pederson is one of the more aggressive play callers in the entire NFL. We saw it all last season and once again in week one Youth Jake Elliott Jersey , when he called the “Philly Special.” When facing these types of teams, Smith emphasized the importance of being on top of your game.NFL Panic Index 2018: Uh oh, the Saints defense is bad again - SB NationWhat the hell happened to the Saints’ defense? After a slow start to the 2017 season, the Saints’ defense caught its stride and finished the year 10th in points allowed. They have the reigning Defensive Rookie of the Year in Marshon Lattimore and one of the NFL’s most destructive defensive linemen in Cameron Jordan. So what in the world led to the Ryan Fitzpatrick-led Buccaneers beating the brakes off the Saints Sunday? The 48 points Tampa Bay scored is the most the Saints have allowed since their bananas 52-49 shootout win against the Giants in the middle of 2015. Sometimes teams start slow, but this was a little extreme....Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBGN Twitter: Follow @BleedingGreenBGN Manager: Brandon Lee Gowton: Follow @BrandonGowtonBGN Radio Twitter: Follow @BGN_Radio Before the tenth Sunday of the 2018 NFL regular season kicks off, let’s have some fun by taking a look at the spreads for today’s games. My season record so far is 57-74-3 after going 6-7 last week. Really going to need a strong stretch run to shake this losing record.NFL Week 10 GamesDetroit Lions at Chicago Bears (-7): The Lions have lost their last two games each by multiple possessions. They’re just not very good. Detroit ranks 29th in DVOA. Chicago, meanwhile, is fourth overall. PICK: Bears -7Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs (-17): The Chiefs are putting up a league-leading 36.3 points per game. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are putting up 13.8 points per game. The Chiefs can easily score enough to cover this three-possession spread. PICK: Chiefs -17New England Patriots (-6.5) at Tennessee Titans: Hard to know what exactly to make of this Titans team. Save for a 21-0 home loss to Baltimore and their Monday Night Football win over Dallas, all of their games have been pretty close. I’d stay away from this one. But since I’m making the pick Cheap Fletcher Cox Jersey , I’ll take the Pats against a Titans team coming off a short week. PICK: Patriots -6.5New Orleans Saints (-6) at Cincinnati Bengals: This has trap game potential for the Saints. New Orleans might be smelling themselves a little too much after a big win over LA. Cincy, meanwhile, is coming off a bye. I don’t know if the Bengals win but maybe they find a way to cover at home. PICK: Bengals +6Atlanta Falcons (-5.5) at Cleveland Browns: The Falcons seem to be beyond their early season struggles. The Browns do not seem to be beyond being the Browns. PICK: Falcons -5.5Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts (-3): Give me Andrew Luck and Frank Reich over Blake Bortles and Doug Marrone. PICK: Colts -3Washington Redskins at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3): Hm. Tough one. I took the Bucs in our straight up picks because I think Ryan Fitzpatrick might be able to get hot here. But then there’s the fact the Tampa Bay defense is just so bad. I’ll try to jinx Washington here by picking them. PICK: Washington +3Buffalo Bills at New York Jets (-7.5): The year is 2018 and somehow Matt Barkley is a starting quarterback. May God have mercy on our souls. PICK: Jets -7.5Los Angeles Chargers (-10.5) at Oakland Raiders: No need to overthink this one. The Raiders are trying to lose on purpose and the Chargers are legitimately good. PICK: Chargers -10.5Miami Dolphins at Green Bay Packers (-10): After losing two in a row, Aaron Rodgers will help the Packers get back on track with a win over the Brock Osweiler-led Dolphins. PICK: Packers -10Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams (-9.5): A little surprised to see Seattle not getting much respect here. I know the Rams score a lot but the Seahawks’ defense is still good. Seattle ranks eighth in opponent points per game and fifth overall in defensive DVOA. Maybe they don’t win but they should be able to keep this one relatively close. PICK: Seahawks +9.5Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5): Good stat from @ChrisRaybon: The Cowboys are 2-14-1 against the spread on short weeks during the Jason Garrett era. The Eagles have a significant rest advantage over Dallas given that the Cowboys played on Monday Night and Philadelphia is coming off their bye. Also the Eagles just seem to match up really well against this Dallas team. As Benjamin Solak pointed out on BGN Radio, Carson Wentz is 7-0 in his last seven NFC East games. The Eagles are primed to come up big here, methinks. PICK: Eagles -7.5New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers (-3): If Arizona can beat the 49ers twice, I can’t help but feel like the Giants might be able to beat San Francisco once. I’m not just going to assume undrafted rookie free agent Nick Mullens is suddenly this great quarterback because he played well against a terrible and tanking Raiders squad. Give me the points! PICK: Giants +3
